Department of Health | Campaigning to create a safe Australian community

Updated: Dec 20, 2022

👉 THIS YEARS THEME for International Day for People with Disabilities (#idpwd2022) is 'Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fuelling an accessible and equitable world' which is A WHOLE LOTTA WORDS to say ‘Empowering new ways to engage our entire Australian community’.

👉 ALONGSIDE THIS, I’m proud as punch to help launch our #PlaySafeStaySafe campaign (supported by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care).

👉 THIS HAS BEEN CREATED FOR YOU by a kick-ass team of change-makers: the majority of us living with visible and invisible disability - and a whole lotta sass.

👉 #PlaySafeStaySafe complements this years theme for #IDPwD.

👉 IT’S SIMPLE, and it may be the little campaign that could... but it’s a birthplace where we can create a new dialogue; where we all discover (including me) new ways to start conversations and build genuine connections with the people around us.

👉 THIS IS YOUR COMMUNITY.

👉 I’M GRATEFUL FOR collaborating with Sam Petersen, uli kaplan, Linda Blaik, Stephanie Ho, Jane Burns, Peter & Linda Tully, Colette Webber and all superstar storytellers in our series…

👉 BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, I’M GRATEFUL FOR making new friends.

👉 SO NOW, please take a moment to see what you can do to #PlaySafeStaySafe.
